Which regions can we choose?
The European Union or the United States. The hosting region and subprocessors are named in your contract before anything is stored.
Where is the data stored?
In data centres in the region you pick. Logs, Audit Records, credentials and gateway traffic stay in that region.
Do you sign a data processing agreement?
EU hosting includes a GDPR data processing agreement and a list of subprocessors. US hosting runs under our standard contract terms.
Can we use EU-hosted models only?
Yes. The Gateway can be limited to providers and regions you approve, such as Mistral or EU regions of Azure and AWS Bedrock, and blocks the rest. This works in both hosting regions.
Does this cover the EU AI Act?
Knotbind provides the building blocks: the immutable Audit Record satisfies record-keeping, and the Owner Approval gate enforces human oversight for high-risk AI systems and enterprise agents. Every assistant action is logged, and no fix ships without a named person's approval. Legal compliance remains your decision; we supply the records and the approval trail.
Can we switch regions later?
Yes, on renewal or a contract change. New credentials are issued for the new region and stored records are migrated on request.
